Even moderately high mileage Fords and Vauxhalls were cheap now that the trade is aware of potential repair costs. £9,800 wasn’t accepted for a 118k mile CR-V 2.2i CDTI Executive, though it probably should have been. Similarly £8,450 didn’t buy a 107k mile 2006/56 facelift E220CDI Elegance auto.
But £3,500 was accepted for a 108k mile 06 Peugeot 407 2.0HDI 136 SW SV, and £4,150 for a 134k mile 07 SAAB 9-3 1.9TID 120 Sportwagon. I could almost hear the vendor’s sigh of relief when a 153k mile 05 reg Vauxhall Signum 1.9CDTI 120 (same engine) went for £2,250.
